A few weeks ago Upstate NY Promoters/ Musicians Ralph Renna & Mike Valente started receiving emails from a local charity Unity house of Troy NY. Seeking help to organize a benefit for unfortunate children this Christmas. Time was tight and there was no time to organize a benefit .  So Renna and Valente  made all of their existing shows and concerts toy drives and the response was overwhelming. 100′s of toys and money was donated, but it still wasn’t enough.and like a last minute snowstorm this past sunday’s show recieved a blizzard of toys. “I have been making drops for the past 2 weeks to unity house myself  and was actually getting frustrated with people  who were’nt donating. I was buying toys myself  and bringing them to the house. and then I received a phone call from Mike.” Said Renna “What The Heck am I supposed to do with all these toys”.

Well Unity House Of Troy got what they asked for,toys , toys and more toys.

Valente Stated ” 416 toys were donated today to Unity House by Upstate Black n Blue, Bogie’s Albany NY and the HARDCORE SCENE!!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone!! Acacia Strain, Brick By Brick, Born Low, Damnation Alley, Scarver, and Sentries and Scott Lee!!! They will find a home by Christmas! There was a pick up truck filled and a van filled with . 5 fifty five gallon bags full of great toys!! Feels good! It  looks like a few thousand toys total  were donated as well as thousands in cash!

Troy-core has been  known for many years in the music scene. But one band that formed in the early 1990′s went against the grain  but the family was all about Burning human’s brand of  Death metal. Formed as a side project at a Stigmata Practice, Burning Human quickly became of the top bands in the Upstate NY metal and hardcore scene.  The Band came to a hault before the 90s ended as Jason Bittner took the job as drummer for the metal band Shadows Fall.  Almost 10 years later Bittner called up the band and offered them a chance to record a record. Burning Human, with out skipping a beat was back in action , signed a deal with Koch records and landed a slot on the 2009- New England metal fest.  The hype grew bigger as a video was shot for the song “Tormented Mind” to  be aired on Mtv’s headbangers ball.  But sometimes i’ts better to be banned from MTV. The violent nature of the  video ,ended up on the banned list! Sometime banned is better a Burning Human gained  recognition from that more so than say the minimal airplay it may have received.  Troy NY will celebrate this Saturday evening and so will Burning Human by playing their first ever show in their hometown of Troy NY. 4 men sit in a room after years of struggling to become rocks next big thingm when it finally dawned on them to stop caring.  Most new rockers take themselves to seriously, play the role,  wear the clothes, wear the makeup.. and yes drink the Kool aid. Not this band, in fact they have urinated in the koolaid and they didn’ tell anyone either. Those four men said we need somone, not just anyone,but he must be, “The One”. Probing Digit found their front man and he goes by name “The One”. “We are the Greatest F#$%ing Band in The G@d D@mn Universe” is their motto and a song you can hear quite often on Waking up with the Wolf the Pyx 106 morning show. They have won the battle of the bands  to play at spac with Avenge sevenfold, which they were accussed of cheating to win.They even billed a show as  a local band roast /battle of the bands “Fixed if we want to”.  Shortly after to make fun of other jealous local bands who didnt have what it takes to make the big stage at spac.

Well it has been almost 2 years in the making and Probing digit are ready to release their first self titled full length CD. Filled  with with heartfelt lyrics such as “you’re 5 pounds away from being alone”  or “I will kill you if you leave me” A song about A.I.D.S. There is even a song about every young mans dream about. How cool would it be if you could suck your own… ugh well you’ll have to wait to hear the cd. Probing digit will play the Putnam Den in Saratoga NY  this Saturday December  4- with special guests Out To Bring Us Down. Pick up your copy of of the  cd bearing there now famous symbol know as the didge. What is a didge you ask?  Ask one of the band members this Saturday and you never know they might show you their’s, if you show them your’s  .|.

Unity house of Troy NY has been faced with budget cuts  from  the poor economy and of all things to be cut was the funding for toy purchases for needy children this Christmas!

From from until Wenesday December 22,2010  , I would kindly ask everyone who reads this to buy some toys( no used for health purposes) no matter the cost for children ages 1- 16  and drop them off at the  Unity House -504 Broadway, Troy, NY 12180 (518)235-4424 please feel free to mail or drop off a  cash or check donation there ONLY!

Local bands constantly asked me to put  out local music cd and  I wanted it to be a FREE cd. Finally I pulled out the calculator,  started searching for  cd duplication and we as individual bands in the rock metal and hip hop community will pay  to get our  song on the cd and will pay for it ourselves and give it away FREE!!!!!
